Happy Easter

Over the last few days, we've had easter egg hunts, playgroups, gone to the zoo, petting zoo, and then today was Easter!  It has been very busy fun!   We definitely are blessed to have such great friends to share this time of year with since we weren't able to be with our families.

Petting the goats at the zoo

Egg Hunt at the zoo.  She has finally figured out to pick up and put the eggs in the basket.  We only get about 5 eggs before she is ready to just sit and play with them though.

Saturday we met up with the Woys.  I was so excited that Keith got to see Grace around the animals.  She just squeals at them.

These were the coolest looking chickens.

Easter Basket!

Sunday best!

Lunch was a huge hit with Grace, especially this bunny cookie.

Grace even met the Easter Bunny.  This was about a close as she wanted to get.

What a difference a year makes....

I hope that you had as good of an Easter weekend as we did.

Walking... try Dancing!!!

For the past couple of weeks, Grace has officially been walking.  She is still working on standing without pulling up, but she is quickly getting there.  I about died yesterday when she was walking away from me and I told her no.  Her response was to turn back, giggle and try to run away.   I had to giggle myself.  I wasn't expecting her to run already.  Granted she isn't really running, but boy can she move pretty quickly.  She still has her arms out for balance and I am loving watching her really get to explore the world.

We've noticed that Grace is getting better at listening and doing what we ask, but I discovered that she knows what dancing is and will dance on command.  How early can we sign up for dance class?

So instead of just posting a video of walking, here is Grace walking, playing with Easter Eggs and of course Dancing!

Easter Egg Hunts Galore

Today began the first of 4 Easter Egg Hunts for Grace (not counting the neighborhood one that we showed up 10 mins late for and it was OVER!!)  As I blogged before, we'd even been practicing a little.  Well it quickly became obvious that we need lots more practice.

We hosted our PTA playgroup today for an Easter Egg Hunt.  Yesterday it was over 90 and today it was in the 60s so not exactly ideal weather, but it was still a very good time even if the moms picked up most of the eggs.  Tomorrow we are hosting our neighborhood playgroup for another Egg Hunt and I don't have much better expectations.

I got Grace to pick up about 10 eggs before she was done and just wanted to eat the eggs.  This was pretty much the same for the rest of the kids in our playgroup.  We do think that next year will be much different!

We did Easter Tattoos ( you know cause tattoos and Easter go so well together :)  )  Grace didn't really want to show hers off.

Yard beforehand.  There were well over 300 eggs

I couldn't resist taking a few of Grace while everyone else was getting ready.

This is our playgroup!

Grace didn't want to nap beforehand so we encountered a minor meltdown during the EE Hunt.  I found her over by the fence all slumped down like a ragdoll, doing her infamous clenched fist squeals.    I am not really sure other than being tired what her issue was.   She took a good nap afterwards though.

All in all it was a fun time, but I have a feeling I will end up doing must of the hunting for eggs at her next 3 events.

Catching up!

I am a bit behind in my blogging so this is going to be pretty picture heavy post.

It is already Easter around here.  My parents sent Grace an Easter present.  Of course at her birthday she wasn't much into opening gifts but a mere 2 wks later it looks like she has that down pat.

This bunny is her favorite right now.  She drags it to me so that I can bop her with his ears and she just cackles with laughter.  She really has gotten into loving on all of her stuffed animals.  It is super cute to watch.  We now have stuffed animals everywhere in the playroom since she drags them around hugging them.    It is funny that these pictures were taken just a couple of weeks ago and Grace has on pants and a long sleeved t-shirt.  Today the forecast is in the 90s!!!

One of the gifts that Grace got for her birthday has turned out to be very great for particularly snack time.  Aunt Irma sent Grace these Gyro bowls that rotate making them very difficult to dump out everything.  You can see that she definitely tries.  Just a couple of weeks with these bowls and I think she has started leaving all of her other plates and bowls alone.  Now that isn't to say that she isn't still dropping food on the floor, but at least we aren't getting as many whole plates of food on the floor.  Thanks, Aunt Irma!

Last week Grace and I went to a petting zoo.  She loved it and just squealed in delight at the animals - bunnies, pigs, goats, donkeys and sheep.

And yes I have a big post coming about what you see in this last couple of pictures.  Grace is officially walking!!

Apparently, eating with your feet on the table is a new favorite.  The more I tell her NO the more she laughs and puts her feet up.  After awhile it is even hard for me to keep a straight face.
